Submission Guidelines
Deadline for submitting for this year's issue: Friday, December 18, 2009
Them's the rules: You must be an undergraduate or graduate student at Southern New Hampshire University.
Some advice for writers: Every year, we receive hundreds of pages of writing. Just because this journal is limited to SNHU students doesn't mean we publish every little piece sent in -- we can't. So take pride in your work, proofread it, tinker with it, think about it during class, polish it until it's as good as you can possibly make it. Your words could end up in a book, so give us the story or poem or essay you'd be proud to have your name on.
Please submit:
Guidelines: Using your @snhu.edu account, e-mail your submission to editors@the-manatee.net as an attachment. In the body of the e-mail, tell us a little about yourself in a few sentences: your major, your year at SNHU (freshman, sophomore, sixth-year senior...), and anything else of interest.
And then: You will receive a reply e-mail within a few days confirming receipt of your submission. We will e-mail you to let you know if your submission was accepted or not as soon as we make our decision on it. This may be as late as February 1, 2010, but no later. If you don't hear from us by then, let us know at editors@the-manatee.net.
Not every submission will be accepted for publication. We use a blind review system to minimize bias: names are removed from submissions before they're passed along to the editorial board.
